Vintage King Karl Photo

Here is a vintage photo of King Karl (Bernard Jolivette). King Karl was a pioneer of the genre known as Louisiana Swamp Pop. His sides recorded for Excello with the Guitar Gable Band had such hits as Life Problem, This Should Go On Forever, Cool Calm Collected, and Irene. These songs showcase King Karl’s beautiful ballad and Rock ‘N Roll voice, and his great ability to write beautiful songs. King Karl moved from Louisiana to Phoenix, Arizona in the 1980s, where he and Bob Corritore became close friends. This photo represents King Karl at the height of his career and at the top of his game. King Karl passed away in December of 2005, and we miss him.

Note at the bottom left corner of this photo, the autograph and inscription “To My Precious Georgette”.
