In 2001 The Rhythm Room (Bob Corritore’s nightclub) celebrated 10 years of bringing Phoenix the best in blues and roots music. With that celebration came a CD released on HighTone called RHYTHM ROOM BLUES. This various artist compilation features some highlights of recorded performances done at the room over its first decade. The CD includes R.L. BURNSIDE (four songs), KIM WILSON (two songs), SONNY RHODES (one song), NAPPY BROWN (one song), HENRY GRAY (two songs) and SAM LAY (two songs). The following are photos from this album. Some of the sidemen on this disc include CHICO CHISM, BOB MARGOLIN, RUSTY ZINN, BILLY FLYNN, RICHARD INNES, LARRY TAYLOR, JOHNNY RAPP, PAUL THOMAS, TOM MAHON, CHRIS JAMES, PATRICK RYNN and BOB CORRITORE.
Note that from these same sessions have come 1) The Grammy-nominated Kim Wilson CD Smokin Joint. 2) The title track of R.L. Burnside’s highly-acclaimed Come On In CD. 3) The R.L. Burnside track “Walkin’ Blues” that appears on Fat Possum’s CD Sampler Not The Same Old Blues Crap Volume 2 and 4) The Mojo Buford CD Champagne And Reefer on the Fedora Label.
