Local Music Notes: Phoenix honors blues great
Phoenix honors blues great with ‘Bob Corritore Day’
Valley blues great Bob Corritore — who hosts “Those Lowdown Blues” 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays on KJZZ (91.5 FM) and owns the Rhythm Room, the venerable roots club in Phoenix — has been honored with his own day by Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon. For being a pioneer in Valley blues, bringing great blues artists to the club and being an ambassador of the blues for the Valley, Gordon proclaimed Sept. 29, 2007, “Bob Corritore Day”. For more info on Corritore, who is also one of the best blues harp performers in the genre, visit myspace.com/bobcorritore.
