Blues piano legend Henry Gray is celebrating his 94th birthday today at his home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Henry is simply the greatest blues piano player alive today, and is one of the few remaining links to the original Chicago blues of the late 40s and early 1950s! He played on numerous classic records with Howlin’ Wolf, Jimmy Rogers, Jimmy Reed, Little Walter, Billy Boy Arnold and others. His recent performance last October at the Crescent City Blues Festival showed us that Henry is still at the top of this game! Happy 94th birthday Henry Gray!
